ReadingHand is built on a simple belief: your privacy is not a feature — it is the default. This policy explains what we do, and more importantly, what we do not do with your information.

1. The short version

• The extension does not collect personal data (name, email, address, photos, or anything that identifies you).
• We do not track your browsing activity.
• We do not use cookies for advertising or profiling.
• We do not sell, rent, or share your data with any third party. Ever.
• The extension works entirely on your device and does not read the content of your child's books.
• If you use our contact form, you voluntarily give us your name and email — used only to reply to you.

2. Information we do not collect

ReadingHand respects the reading experience as a private activity. The extension displays a guiding hand that follows the word being read aloud on the screen. This happens locally on your device. The extension does not collect, transmit, or store:

• Any content of the books or pages you read.
• Your browsing history or the sites you visit.
• Keystrokes, mouse movements, or usage patterns.
• Your name, email address, or any personal identifier.
• Information about your children.

The only exception is the contact form, described in section 7 below, where you voluntarily provide your name and email so we can reply to you.

3. Information we may process

To keep the service working — and only for that purpose — we process the minimum functional data required to operate a licensed extension:

• License key: used to verify that your copy of ReadingHand is genuine and activated.
• Device identifier: a hash of anonymous browser properties (such as user agent, language, timezone), used solely to bind your license to your device and prevent unauthorized sharing of keys. This is not personally identifiable information.
• Subscription status: used to know whether your license is active or expired.
• Diagnostic error codes: anonymous error codes that help us fix bugs. These never contain personal data or reading content.

None of the above can be used to identify you or your child. It exists only so the software you paid for keeps working.

In summary: This extension collects a device fingerprint (derived from browser properties) and license key for device-binding purposes. No personal data, browsing history, or payment information is collected or stored. The extension does not use any third-party analytics or tracking.

4. How data is stored and protected

Any functional data is stored securely with industry-standard encryption in transit, and access is restricted to authorized systems only. We retain license data only for as long as your license is active and delete it when it is no longer needed or when you deactivate the extension.

5. External connections

The extension connects to our server (https://readinghand.azedu.my.id) to verify your license and deliver the reading guide functionality. No personal data, reading content, or browsing history is sent.

6. Cookies and tracking

This website and the extension do not use advertising cookies, tracking pixels, fingerprinting, or analytics scripts that profile you. We do not use third-party advertising networks. We believe an educational product has no business watching you.

7. No third-party sharing

We do not sell, rent, trade, or share your information with third parties for any purpose — including advertising, marketing, or research. We only engage service providers strictly necessary to operate the service (for example, payment processing), and they are contractually bound to use data solely to provide that service.

8. Contact form

When you send us a message through our contact form, you voluntarily provide your name and email address together with your message. This information is used for a single purpose: to reply to your message. It is stored securely, is never sold or shared with third parties, and we delete it once it is no longer needed or whenever you ask us to. You can contact us at any time to request deletion.

9. Children's privacy

ReadingHand is a tool for parents to use alongside their children. We do not knowingly collect any personal information from children. Because we do not collect personal data at all, there is nothing to collect from children either.

10. Your rights

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, or delete information we hold about you. Since we hold no personal data, exercising these rights is simple: you can deactivate or uninstall the extension at any time, which immediately stops all data exchange with our servers. For contact-form messages, you can request deletion at any time.

11. Changes to this policy

If we ever change this policy, the updated version will be posted on this page with a new effective date. Any change will preserve, and never reduce, the protections described here.
